NEW YORK
– If you thought you’d have to leave the city limits to visit the beach
this summer, think again.
American Leisure Corporation is helping to bring the beach atmosphere to
you.
Overlooking the breathtaking
Manhattan skyline and yet surrounded by a
40,000 square foot “beach” made of imported sand, the Floating Pool at
Brooklyn
Bridge
Park
Beach is a 260 foot barge on
the
East River with a 25 meter swimming
pool within. In addition to
staffing and managing the pool, American Leisure has developed a host of
creative programming, which includes aerobic water exercise classes,
synchronized water ballet classes, swim classes for toddlers to seniors,
water volleyball, and swim races.
“American
Leisure Corporation has been shaping the way that New Yorkers escape
from the summer heat for 30 years,” said Steve Kass, CEO of American
Leisure. “From my first job
as a lifeguard at Coney Island to our current work with the innovative
Floating Pool, it has been so excited to be apart of the evolution of
the urban pool.”
Located at
Brooklyn
Bridge
Park between Piers
4 and 5, this unique attraction built for the 21st century New Yorker
will be open to the public through Labor Day and offer a summer oasis in
the middle of a huge city.
